Matt Dallas, First Place

Pumped to announce that team rider Matt Dallas brought home the gold this past Saturday in the Red Bull Berm Burner Challenge at Windham World Cup. The event consisted of a mid-day practice, a qualifying round, and then 8 heats to determine who the winner would be. It was random start using a BMX-style drop gate. Something Matt is well used to through his BMX background. His start was strong every time and played a big part in his gaining that tiny edge, immediately. The heats were back-to-back so every competitor moving on to another heat was well gassed.

My media badge enabled me to get inside the pump track and cheer Matt on as the race was going, and also to grab these shots. Each rider started on opposite sides of the track and the first rider to catch the other rider’s wheel, won. If that didn’t happen, the rider with the most laps at the bell would be the winner. Timing was handled through fork mounted chips.

The Red Bull truck was on hand to spin tunes, announce, and deliver Red Bull chics in short-shorts giving out free Red Bull. Check the pics.

Big Congrats on the Win Matt!
